The Last Exorcism is about a guy who doubts religion taking on demonic possession. Red State is about religious fanatics taking on "sinners" and the ATF. As far as horror goes, The Last Exorcism is the creepier flick. Red State seems like more of a dark comedy. I guess these both qualify as movies that I'd watch if they were on cable or something, but I wouldn't seek them out that often. But I would seek out The Last Exorcism if I had to choose. It's a more intense and interesting tale.
