Cabaret vs. Defiance

Thinking about this pairing I hadn't considered the similarities of these movies shared beyond the era in which they both take place. Both are stories of individuals struggling with the notion of who they want to be versus think they should be. Defiance gets the benefit of being based on a true story, and being a pretty good underdog war movie in the vein of the Guns of Navarone. Cabaret almost goes over based on the story of Liza getting ready to go out for her big number only to have a production assistant say, "Hmmm... it's missing something" then proceeding to hit her in the crotch with glitter. I put Defiance narrowly on top for being the action Fiddler on the Roof.
