This is a tough match-up, as this is one of the few movies where I like the remake and original about equally. Sadly though, the remake will probably take this by a hair (I think Judd Apatow and Dean Parisot's approach to this material is a little more interesting than David Giler, Mordachi Richler and Ted Kotcheff's approach). Still, I think what gets it there is Jim Carrey and Tea Leoni, who seem to be funnier and more entertaining than George Segal and Jane Fonda (although in fairness, watching Fonda wipe herself on screen and seeing her and Segal robbing a church still remains funny to this day). The remake takes this match just barely!

Segal and Fonda have great chemistry.
