I think it was mostly the ending of The Matador that I didn't like. The rest was dark and funny, and even a bit touching. Bad Lieutenant is hilarious at times, and the almost happy ending has a twisted aspect to it. Particularly if you've seen the Keitel version. Anyway, "His soul is still dancing" and the iguanas make Lieutenant more memorable. Cage is better at being crazy than Brosnan.
