A prostitute, a priest and an assassin... Sounds like the opening to a coll joke, right? Well it's not, and The American is not amusing. The American is a testing movie that contains a most arduous set-up to its beatiful pay-off. All the pretty landscapes, rambling shots and meandering, hollow filming might be considered worthy of merit by some fans. Not this one. Holy Garil? Well that one is amusing.
