There's not really anything to The American. I'm not sure why they bothered making another clichéd movie about a killer who wants to go straight. I just saw Bangkok Dangerous, which was about the same exact thing. Maybe The American was better, but that's not saying much. Speaking of Nicolas Cage, Next wasn't great, but at least it had the whole seeing into the future angle. The American had nothing new or interesting to offer at all.
