Surprised I'm the first one discussing it. I noticed some comparison of the Dark Knight for First Class, but, origin speaking, we have to compare it to Batman Begins. While I loved both movies, First Class is more blockbuster-ish. So it wins.

Begins takes this one. While I enjoy Bryan Singer's X-Men films and consider them to be the closest thing Marvel will ever get to being quality film making, Nolan's origin of Batman is the most impressive coming of age experience I've had in cinema

First Class outclasses Batman Begins quite a bit actually. BB is very flawed and the film goes downhill once Bruce Wayne puts on the suit. First Class has an equally if not better set up but kicks it in to another gear once all the forces are aligned.

There's a good case that X-Men First Class tops TDK, comparing it to the weaker Batman Begins is near laughable. The depth, charisma and spectacle of First Class absolutely moves it far past a film like Batman Begins.

First Class over Batman Begins but not over The Dark Knight.

First Class draws you in firmly with its magnificence just as it overpowers you with its immense stupidity. That's a shame because X-Men should always reign supreme over other comics. BB is just too solid here.
