Argh! My #2 Scorsese vs my #2 Fincher...
My #5 Scorsese vs my #5 Fincher. Jake La Motta gets the win.
Raging Bull is possibly my favorite Scorsese film, but I think I'll give it for Zodiac. Fincher's works are more appealing to me in general.

I analyzed both of these movies after I viewed them for the first time. I learned about Jake LaMotta's real life story, and I researched info about the Zodiac killer. Needless to say, I appreciated both of these masterpieces more on a second viewing. I have to give it to Raging Bull though, even though Zodiac ain't too far off.

Zodiac is a freaking amazing film but doesn't come near Scorsese and DeNiro at their best

Interesting that the people on whose lives these films were based are still alive. Respect Raging Bull, but love AND respect Zodiac.

On a technical level, they're virtually tied. On a personal level, I prefer Zodiac.

Raging Bull is arguably Scorsese's best film, so I've just gotta go with that.
