We've got two movies that sweetly portray obsessive love. The Hairdresser's Husband is about a guy with an obsession for hairdressers while Show Me Love is about a teenage lesbian's obsession with a schoolmate. I can actually relate to both of these movies to some extent, even though I'm not a lesbian and don't have a hairdresser fetish. What guy wouldn't want to bag a hot dream girl who totally accepts his quirks? And who hasn't felt like a lonely outsider (except for well-adjusted popular people)? I like The Hairdresser's Husband more, though. I like that the guy dances to Middle Eastern music, and that he and his wife don't want children because they're completely happy with each other's company (it's a personal thing). And The Hairdresser's Husband is sexy. Show Me Love is maybe a bit more uplifting when all is said and done, but The Hairdresser's Husband has a deeper impact.
