The Silence of the Lambs vs. Clerks.

I'll just say here, I am not a fan of Kevin Smith. it's vulgar for vulgarities sake, and no amount of faux-witty dialogue could EVER top a character like Hannibal Lector.

It may be a sign of a social collapse, but I believe that the characters in "Clerks" speak as their real-life counterparts would and do. Lecter is an interesting screen villain, at least in the hands of an actor like Hopkins, but one thing that I think gives "Clerks" the edge is that it is entirely original. "Silence of the Lambs," you may recall, was adapted from a novel in which Hannibal "the cannibal" had already been given his depth and appeal. Kevin Smith tapped into a growing, yet marginalized sub-culture and put it on the screen.

i'll take Silence of the Lambs too but NOW WAY i give any credit to a guy with a popeye avatar. Kevin Smith rules.

Silence of the lambs is one of the most overrated films of all time! Clerks. Wins.

sotl

Definitely going with Hannibal.

Silence, without breaking a sweat.
