Psycho it is.
Weird they haven't been matched yet. These are about the only two "slashers" (proto-slashers?) I've seen that aren't worthless schlock. Texas, but Psycho's no slouch.

Texas Chainsaw is obviously the gorier of the two, but gorier doesn't always mean better.
The reason this matchup hasn't been discussed ad nausium is because it's a no-brainer. Psycho easily wins.

Love Chainsaw. Psycho wins.
Even after decades of imitations and spinoffs The Texas Chain Saw Massacre douses you with unease. If this film doesn't capture real horror I don't know what does. As for showers? They're not scary, they're refreshing!

Funny, both movies were inspired by the sane killer. Both are masterpieces, and both feel like they should be in film school lmao. Chainsaw for the win.
