Both wonderful films, but Ratatouille is the victor, in my opinion.

Ratatouille has great writing, great animation, great sound design, a beautiful instrumental score and an amazing ending. But E.T. wins for me because of the writing, the emotional depth, the effects, the cinematography, the editing, the sound design, Spielberg's direction and the instrumental score.
