Both these films are tense and exciting thrillers about very different subjects. I think Burt Reynolds gives a great performance in 'Deliverance' which adds to the films quality of seeming to be real. It's beautiful to look at and an interesting film about man's estangement from the wilderness. The French Connection is an urban, gritty cop movie which I find lacking in logic, because of its reliance on visuals. I think that 'Deliverance' is the better film.

I agree Deliverance is the better film. I honestly don't get the fuss over The French Connection.

the train scene only part of french i like .
French Connection for me. Both are two great American films of the 70's.
