I like Walker, though I'm not sure how I feel about the anachronistic touches. I know that they're supposed to represent how the events in the movie parallel current events, but it's sort of heavyhanded. I don't care for the score all that much either. But otherwise the movie is visually attractive and darkly humorous. Animal Instincts, for what it is, is quite extraordinary. I hadn't heard of Shannon Whirry before, but Animal Instincts was an earth shaking intro, I must say. The story involves a guy who likes to film his wife in acts of intimacy with wealthy strangers. Shannon Whirry plays the wife, and she might have clothes on for roughly 20% of the movie. Barely anybody stays clothed for long, in all truth, but it's Shannon Whirry's show. Based on this movie alone, she was added to my pantheon of beguiling actresses. So, yeah, Walker is a good flick, but it ain't one of my personal cinematic milestones. I ain't saying that Animal Instincts is better as a whole, but Shannon Whirry is a discovery of considerable magnitude. I must follow my heart in these matters.
