Independence Day vs. The Pursuit of Happyness

I don't remember Independence Day very much, but I remember it being fun in a silly kind of way. Pursuit of Happyness was another failed attempt of Will Smith to shed his comedic persona and be "dramatic". The problem is that Will Smith has a natural charm about him, and thus, his movies work when he plays charming characters, like Agent J. So, Independence Day wins because Will got to play charming.

I think that The Pursuit of Happyness is Will Smith's best performance and the film is better than Independence Day.

I enjoy both of these but I'm a sucker for sci-fi. Independence Day wins.
