Caligula vs. Dancer in the Dark

Caligula is a film whose snooty cast and quasi-literate script can't mask its cheaply exploitative intent. Dancer in the Dark, though deeply flawed by its deliberately amateurish production values and the Bjorkishness of its lead actress, is miles better.
