Guy Pearce being awesome versus Guy Pearce being awesome? Damn...I have to give it to Memento.

I didn't really like Memento; L.A. Confidential is pretty good, though. Easy choice for me.

L.A. Confidential wins this one because of its ability to be watched again and again (also it's awesome). Memento is a great movie the first time you watch it but not one I could watch over and over like Confidential.

L.A. Confidential is the more enjoyable, but not the better, of the two films. Memento is too perfectly constructed to lose here.

L.A. Confidential is a great movie, and so is Memento. Two wonderful Guy Pearce films. However, Memento becomes deeper and deeper each time you watch it, because of all the little intricacies in the film. Every time you watch Memento, you will pick up on something new. L.A. Confidential has more star power, and is more straightforward and accessible, but if you put your mind to it, Memento is the "better" movie.

Memento has a very clever idea but in the end I enjoyed L.A. Confidential more.

Memento is more entertaining.

Memento holds up better on repeated viewings.

While the story and directing of Memento far outclasses that of LA Confidential, the overall package leans heavily towards Confidential. Too many great performances to pick against it.

Love LA Confidential, but Memento wins this one folks. It's one of the most re-watchable movies I've ever seen.
Both great, Memento wins.

I absolutely love L.A. Confidential. In fact, it's my favorite cop film of all time. Yes, I like it better than Heat and The Departed. Yet, I can count on one hand how many movies have impressed me more than Memento. And L.A. Confidential isn't one of them.
