I feel as if Prestige is the correct answer, but I think I prefer D9.

These are both some of my favorite films but I'll choose District 9. Sharlto Copley's performance is unreal, and I don't identify with anyone in The Prestige as much as I relate to Wikus Van De Merve. I also love the computer generated prawns, and I care about Christopher more than Gollum. The themes regarding industrialized military and in group/out group thinking are also brilliant. The Prestige has a lot of excellent acting and writing but nothing of that caliber.

Prestige.
Nolan movies are best enjoyed the same you would enjoy jigsaw puzzles with metaphorical mazes. The Prestige is his best puzzle so far.
