If I were pairing Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling together on screen, I'd at least find an above average script to showcase their talents. Fracture is a sub-level thriller that stumbles over one John Grishamesque cliche after another until it reaches an unsatisfying ending. Down with Love on the other hand is a fun, flirty and playful romantic comedy that owes just as much to its wonderful screenplay as it does to casting.
