Star Trek is a ride. The Motion Picture is a snooze-fest.
New Star Trek was lots of fun. ST: The Motion Picture was the weakest of the original casts' films.

The 2009 Star Trek movie is a trillion times better than the 1979 Star Trek movie.

Over the years, my appreciation for THE MOTION PICTURE has grown. My enjoyment of the reboot seems to wane a little. To my surprise, I'm actually going with TMP here.
