V for Vendetta vs. Brazil

What's weird...I pretty much figured out both movies feature similar futures. V is a bit more dystopian than Brazil, but both are rather grim...

Ugh... I hate these two movies. It pains me to have to pick one. I guess I'll go with V for Vendetta since it had an interesting opening sequence.

Both have similar themes but Brazil is ten thousand times more emotionally evocative inspiring a plethora of feelings, from creepy to hilarious, to mind-bending sci-fi. V for Vendetta is a far from original take on the genre and brings absolutely nothing new to the table. Yet another teen dystopian-esque piece of shit which acts as if it's clever and has a lot of original things to say about freedom, which it surely doesn't. Basically all V for Vendetta says is "government is bad and corrupt" but passes it off as clever by having violence so it's darker and seems "edgy". Easily one of the most overrated films I've seen, Brazil is far more intriguing.
