Two great performances - but I have to go with Nicholson on this one. I think Day Lewis is brilliant in this movie, slightly overdoes it perhaps, but the actual film lets it down. Cuckoo's nest has a great plot, it's well made and Nicholson shines...

It's tough, but I think in the end, The Cuckoo's Nest wins. Even Nicholson's performance is better.
I also think Jack Nicholson's performance is better than Daniel Day Lewis'. The film as a whole is better than There Will Blood, due to its character development and memorable segments.
There will be blood in the cuckoo's nest. PTA triumphs in this matchup.

I agree. Cuckoo's Nest is a great film, but not as good as Blood.

Cuckoo's Nest is just a better fiilm, I can see what the aim of Blood was, but it just didn't work. IMO.
