Both great Abrams films. I must give the edge to Star Trek here.
Star Trek was the surprise Oscar worthy film here.

Seriously? One had great effects, a decent plot, and toughest of all, re-imagining of beloved characters. The other was a crappy godzilla movie with a shaky camera. And there's a question here?

I really enjoyed Cloverfield. It was an awesome adrenaline rush. But I'm going for Star Trek. Still not interested in the history of the series, but that was one damn good movie.

Star trek is really nice one
Star Trek was way more enjoyable for me. Clover Field was creepy and the shaky hand held camera didn't do anything for me.

I thought Cloverfield was a pretty interesting concept. I've never seen any Star Trek movies or the show, but I really loved J.J. Abrams interpretation of it. Star Trek wins.
