Stripes vs. Valkyrie

Tom Cruise trying to blow up Hitler vs. Bill Murray screwing around with military equipment. I like Bill Murray generally, but Stripes is very low on my list of his movies. Warren Oates is even in it, and I like Warren Oates. But it's just not funny. Tom Cruise is an actor I don't often care for, but I felt his pain in Valkyrie. He was a loyal and brave soldier with a noble mission. Bill Murray farts around a lot in Stripes. Sometimes war is serious business, and good men are sacrificed. Tom Cruise was a good man.
