Well, these are both movies about mistresses, in French. The difference is that I don't really find Maîtresse to be all that erotic. It's entertaining enough, and the subject matter is interesting to a point, but it doesn't inspire much in the way of lust. The Last Mistress has Asia Argento being about as appealing as I've ever seen her in any movie. And there's some decently torrid action in there. AND it's a costume drama, a genre which I have a strange predilection for. We have a winner.
