The second installments from the two best trilogies of all time. Both I believe are the weakest in each but that doesn't mean that the films are lacking in any way. Both are amazing but I've got to go with The Two Towers.

I think Toy Story 2 is the best of that trilogy, just edging out the original. I agree that Two Towers is the weakest Rings film, but that doesn't mean it isn't darn high on my chart.

I too feel that Toy Story is one of, if not the, best trilogies of all-time and that Toy Story 2 is the best of the trilogy. I don't, however, feel that The Lord of the Rings is one of the best. In fact, I feel it is up there with Star Wars as the most overrated trilogy of all-time. The Fellowship of the Ring, I liked. The only thing I liked in the other two was John Noble's performance in The Return of the King and a brief battle scene in The Two Towers. One well done scene does not a movie make and so I pick Toy Story 2 in an absolute landslide.

I think Toy Story 2 and the original are pretty much on equal ground (I loved the third installment but it didn't feel like I got something else out of it that I didn't get from the first two), but I still choose the original due to nostalgia. I'd actually choose Two Towers over Fellowship, but behind Return of the King. Both of these films are in my top 100, but Two Towers makes it in my top 50.

I dunno how people can praise LOTR as a trilogy. Fellowship is an amazing film but Return has some seriously shitty moments that I'll not bother going into. Toy Story 3 is also the weakest of that set of films. Spanish Buzz was overkill and they wrote Tim Allen out for the sake of some really weak humour. A lot of the Ken stuff was awkward and unnescessary too. Re this match-up, easy for TS2. Oh no wait, Jesse is really annoying though and she get's a lot of airtime in TS2....
