I'll agree with you there. Then again, I don't really remember much from either but I did watch Fievel Goes West more as a kid.

"Fievel Goes West" doesn't even touch the original's quality.

I think they were both fantastic; Fievel Goes West was the only sequel of a Don Bluth classic that hit the closest to its original in terms of material and purpose. It was the best sequel to a Don Bluth film in my opinion, in other words. But to even the playing field here, I shall choose Don Bluth's masterpiece with the original.
