Ichi the Killer vs. Oldboy

I'd like to throw the two main characters into a Thunderdome. I have a feeling everyone would get wet.

Oldboy is contrived in a way that works against it; it's stilted and awkward. Ichi's errors and contrivances just add to its fever-dreamish ambiguity. A deeper and more entertaining film, without even a hint of Oldboy's self-importance.

OldBoy has better fight sequences and a more emotional story that works on a personal level but it feels at times sloppy and stunted while Ichi is a endless buffet of slaughter but whats entertaining is that you never really know where its going and its shocks the audience not just in violence but in characters and story! its so darkly funny I feel sick laughing at the carnage but its a real treasure of a film!
