Ichi the Killer vs. The Burning Moon

For some, trying to decide which of these is the greatest work of reprehensible entertainment would be a daunting task. They are both blood drenched and perverse in their sadism. But I feel confident in my decision - Ichi the Killer is definitely the more accomplished on a technical level, and perhaps this is why The Burning Moon is more enjoyable. Moon is so grimy and cheap that the carnage seems all the more twisted. The film seems to be directly from the mind of a psychopath. Ichi's sadism is more cringe-inducing, but Moon's is more insane. And therefore more entertaining.
