The Count of Monte Cristo vs. Les Misérables

It amazes me that no one I've asked who has seen the recent one has watched the Liam Neeson version (leave alone the Depardieu one). In this particular match-up, I feel Neeson's Les Miserables is smoother and more entertaining than Cavizel's Count of Monte Cristo.

Both are good films. I happen to prefer the story of a 'corrupt' man turn into a spectacular being, than a good man corrupted by revenge.
