Oooh, tough one. The Babadook works on me more as a horror film, but The VVitch is so perfectly crafted. I gotta hand it to The VVitch on this one.

I prefer the performances and visuals in The Witch (no slight to the remarkable Essie Davis though), but I thought The Babadook had a stronger story.

The Witch by a long shot. The Babadook was a creepy film, but The Witch nailed it on every level.

Changing my vote to The Witch. Over time I've come to appreciate how much of a masterpiece it really is.
