2 of the best ever, tough choice. my love for kubrick's work is the only thing that can separate these 2 in my mind.
pretty easy for me kubrick was much better than osron wells and 2001 was his best work
Watched both of these for the first time fairly recently. Tough choice, both are very good films, but neither of them are especial favourites. I know it's only the first time I've seen them, but I'm not convinced that either will become a favourite. Anyway, while I usually favour smart, idea-led Sci-Fi with innovative special effects, of which 2001 is the father of the genre, Citizen Kane was more enjoyable. Going to go with Citizen Kane on this one.
Ok, a movie deserves to be remembered for either two reasons:
1-Doing what nobody had ever done before; 2-Doing what it does with excellence.
And these guys have both....
Both are very innovative and ahead of their time. Sorry, Orson.
2001 easily takes this. I did not care for Citizen Kane much at all.
Well, 2001 being (in my opinion) the greatest movie of all time. It wins.
I really liked Citizen Kane, but honestly, what makes it one of the greatest films ever made? I don't have a clue. It took me a couple viewings to appreciate 2001, but now I love it and I feel that my love for it will only continue to grow. Maybe that will happen with Citizen Kane also (I've only seen it once), but for now I'm going with 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Really liked Citizen Kane, but I think it will take a second viewing to love it like its one of the greatest cinematic achievements of all time. 2001 blew my mind like no other film.
Its 2001 for me, but both deserve the praise they receive and then some.
2001 but it's so darn close.
Two movies people claim to call their favourites but deep down find boring as shit.
Both transcend cinema in ways that we have never seen before or since. Since they are completely different genres it really depends on your taste and how many times you have seen them. Because they are two films that get better after each viewing. I'm gonna go with Kane for now, but 2001 is due for another visit.
2001: A Space Odyssey

Damn this is difficult. #1 and #2 on my list. Citizen Kane is arguably the better movie, but no movie is as stunning and breathtaking as 2001. Kane has better acting, is more influential, and the way it tells its story is simply genius. 2001 is visually the better movie (well it came out 27 years after Kane so that's obvious), its music is far better, it's more epic, it is more thought provoking and it feels more "clean" overall. I'm going with Kubrick's masterpiece for now.
