Battle of the Social Outcasts! The King of Comedy is about as amusing as a movie can be and De Niro was at the top of his game when he played Pupkin. But there are very few movies, very few, that I have enjoyed as much as Punch-Drunk Love. I love the way Anderson uses every tool in his power to make us anxious. I love that I got to watch a romantic-comedy where the negative tension between the two leads was kept to a minimum. And there are moments where I identify with Barry so much, it's not even funny. Usually, my answer is "Scorsese wins!", but PDL takes the win here.

Both great, but De Niro and Scorsese always win.
