Wow, the two that brought Dinsey back. I'm sorry, I love them both, but please... Beauty and The Beast defines a classic.

Little Mermaid improved, Beauty and the Beast perfected

Beauty and the Beast had consistency issues. It went from extremely goofy to extremely serious. The villain wasn't needed, there were non-sequitur songs. And the best animated figure was the Beast. The Little Mermaid was a true masterpiece. There's more to the plot than just romance, there's drama between Ariel and Triton. The movie is like a swiss army knife, just when you think you've pulled out all the gadgets...you discover more subtle qualities. TLM was handmade, had an elegant score, catchy/witty songs that drove the plot, well developed characters, and well handled action. The romance in this movie is fun for adults and children, (Especially when Ariel is discovering everything in the marketplace).
