At first, I thought Flareup was going to be better than Fathom. Raquel Welch as a Go Go dancer seemed more promising than Raquel Welch as a parachutist/dental assistant. The first half hour of Flareup is pretty good. There's dancing, a shooting murder in broad daylight, a vehicular assault... but then blah. Fathom doesn't just peter out so quickly. It's more gradual, and there's also the green bikini. I would even say Welch has more personality in Fathom. Flareup is a disappointment.
