War of the Worlds was ok as a remake. Crystal Skull as a sequel to one of the greatest trilogys of all time was not acceptable.

I actually think that War of the Worlds is much better than the original from 1953. The latter hasn't aged well; in fact, it's almost unwatchable today. That said, this is still a difficult decision. Indiana Jones 4 was disappointing, but it's still Indy. It's probably not as good as War of the Worlds, though, so I'll go with Tom Cruise over Harrison Ford for now. Ugh!

I'm with viper: these are both awful, and I'm having a tough time deciding which one I like less (there is no "liking more" when it comes to these movies). And I have to disagree with the notion that the WotW remake was better than the original. The first one obviously had cheesy special effects et al, but it was fun and not a slog.

I haven't seen War of the Worlds recently enough to say my opinion on it. But I don't think it could be much worse then the abominable Crystal Skull.

Two good underrated films. As much as I love the Indy films, I'm going with War of the Worlds.
