Anton is a better villain than Jack, but I prefer The Shining. Kubrick's direction along with the mesmerizing cinematography makes it pretty hard to beat.

Two of my favorite films of all to time... According to my criteria No Country takes it by a long shot It's more entertaining, more rewatchable, more accessible, better written, better acted better shot, better paced, better lengthen, better characters, better story, better messages. The Shining wins on technical brilliance, direction, music, influence, innovation. I'll say No Country is a better film, but The Shining is a better work of art.
