Watchmen vs. The Dark Knight

DARK KNIGHT has better performances and some good photography, but WATCHMEN wins on story and style. I predict neither of them will endure.

this is very even, id go for the dark knight bcoz of heath ledger

I like Watchmen storyline especially the novel, but we're talking about the films here. Dark Knight has better performances.

watchmen has one of my favorite directors but dark knight has amazing acting even still i have to give it to watchmen just because of such a great story

I give it to Watchmen any time. It's just far better in my opinion.

Of all the things The Dark Knight handily bests Watchmen in, tone stands out most. Watchmen was so successful a graphic novel because of its dark tone, and Snyder fell short of replicating it. If Watchmen only managed the same tone as The Dark Knight, it would have been as perfect a graphic novel adaptation as you can get. But it couldn't and remains great, though not nearly on par with The Dark Knight.

I think Watchmen is better as a graphic novel than as a film, regardless of the fact that it was a pretty good film. Alan Moore's opinion that it is better as a graphic novel makes more sense. Also, I think The Dark Knight will be remembered if for at least being the last full role Heath Ledger was in.

I like both movies, and I think that they feature probably the 2 best performances ever in superhero movies (Jackie Earle Haley and Heath Ledger) but The Dark Knight wins for me, at least for now anyway..

I know nothing of the Watchmen graphic novel, but I enjoyed the movie. The Dark Knight, meanwhile, blew me away. No contest for me.

Two of my all time favorite superhero movies. Nolan's film will always be my favorite though.

I would say that these movies are almost about even. But Watchmen is way more complex than the Dark Knight. It explores many things, one of the recurring ones being human nature. Watchmen also has one of the best opening credits sequence I have scene, and a great soundtrack. If we had a choice of Watchmen the directors cut, it wouldn't be this close. The directors cut adds some well needed scenes, and evens out the pace.

Both films tackle complex issues, but TDK handles them better. The finale of Watchmen just raises too many questions and brings up too many holes in the plot. Why frame Manhatten and then expect him to maintain the Utopia? Why would Manhatten announce that he's leaving to the two other people who know the secret, leaving them free to spill the beans to the planet if they so choose? TDK wins by having a tighter plot and not attempting to juggle too many things at once. That, and the woman portraying Jupiter was a very poor actress.

GRRRRR

Watchmen is brilliant, but it doesn't seem like it goes quite far enough. The graphic novel has a dark, gritty feel to it, which is somehow missing from the film. In contrast, the Dark Knight feels, well, dark. Add to that the fact that Bruce Wayne's character is explored better than any of the characters in Watchmen, and the Dark Knight swings this admittedly close contest.

After rewatching some parts of The Dark Knight recently, it really changed my opinion towards the movie. My problems have mainy to do with the dialogue. It's worse than I remembered. Watchmen wins.

It's like choosing between a pile of shit and a pile of shit.

Watchmen is great, but The Dark Knight is in my top five.

A toughie, but Watchmen is actually the better movie, in my opinion. It was more clever than the Dark Knight, it was filmed better, and the acting was just slightly superior. Sorry, Nolan.

"What were you trying to prove? That deep down everyone is as ugly as you?" vs. "Blake understood, humans are savage in nature. No matter how much you try to dress it up. To disguise it."

The Dark Knight....pretty easy choice for me...

The Dark Knight smashes Watchmen.

The Dark Knight is masterful.

Dark Knight destroys Watchmen.

The dark knight crushes watchmen.

The Dark Knight is better in every single way.

The Dark Knight Is Also Dark And Nitty Gritty But It’s One Of Those Movies You Can Pop In Anytime As I Mentioned For A Few Other GN Flicks, So Edge Goes To The Dark Knight, And It’s Also Like A Mob Movie In A Way

Dark Knight is way better

Both were really great but TDK has the advantage as one of the best movies ever its so good that it exists outside of the comic book movie category
