Nice matchup, but Silence is just better.
Silence of the Lambs is a very fine film, but Jaws is almost perfect.

I was surprised how much I loved Jaws, but Silence stands as my favorite Thriller.

both didnt start out as traditional Horror films but thats why most dont get the genre its not traditional it starts its own paths-Jaws is more a terrifying film cause of its score and real world setting(the Beach)While LAMBS is smart and bloody Lector turns from Anti-Hero back to Glorious Villain in no time there's some sick stuff but its also well written,Lambs is part of the Fringe Horror or thrilling Crime-Horror.but I prefer JAWS.

Lecter's jaw is scarier than the shark's. No wonder it has to be covered with a mask.

Jaws by far. While both were really great, I didn't find them to be that scarier.

BOTH ARE legendary .. I dont know. ITS a DRAW . I am biased towards 90s movies through. Going with Silence of the LAMBS. I just think its the best psyc thriller of all time Silence of the LAMBS
