I don't like having to choose between these two but since I have to I choose 500 days of summer because of the pace and creativity in story development.

Once proves that you can make a good film in unglamour way. (500) Days of Summer proves that you still can wrap an unoriginal love story prettily.

Once is nice, but (500) Days is simply on another level.
