these are both so good very interesting horror gems- Nightbreed is more unique and has better make up and effects but I like the story and mystery of Salem's Lot-this is Hard but Salem's Lots world I like a tad more.

Salem's Lot was such a letdown. I know It isn't very good, but I still liked it and Tim Curry was great. So I expected Salem to be just another fine King mini-series, especially because it's directed by friggin' Tobe Hooper. While it's not without its moments, it just felt overlong, messy and lifeless. I hope someday there's gonna be a great Salem's Lot adaptation. This one just isn't. As for Nightbreed, it's sure a damn hot mess, but I still could enjoy it, and it obviously was intentionally messy. I guess I was expecting some sort of batshit crazy cult flick. I was hoping Salem was going to be scary and chilling, it just was boring. Easy pick.
