Seven is amazing
Se7en wins hands down....Apocalypse Now is good but it gets too lengthy in plot at times, but it is still a classic nonetheless.
se7en is more interesting, i found apocalypse preety boring in some scenes, while se7en is awesome and thrilling in every minute of it.
Apocalypse Now is a beautiful and haunting film, there is nothing quite like it. Se7en though amazing as it is just can't beat Coppola, Brando, Duvall and Hopper
Apocalypse Now. It is a haunting work about the Vietnam war.
Se7en if an ok film but come on guys, Apocalypse Now is one of the best films ever. Just look at the cast list: Brando, Sheen, Hopper, Duvall. AO blows Se7en out of the water.
@Ajzz - Morgan Freeman. That is all.
Se7en is much much better .
Two haunting and poignant works.
Apocalypse Now........ by far.
I love war movies, but I just can't ever connect with Apocalypse Now. Se7en is still just as interesting to me with multiple viewings, so I have to give it the nod...
I'd argue Se7en offers a more nightmarish view of hell.
apocalypse now is an overall more impact-full and memorable
Apocalypse Now is a fantastic war film But Se7en is a fantastic Mystery/Crime film Se7en takes it
Both movies are gold. Different genres, different focuses. I feel that Apocalypse Now is the better film, but I don't think that's by much. Part of it is aesthetic: war movies vs. neo-noir. I like neo-noir better, I'd even go as far as saying it is my favorite film genre. The main reason I say apocalypse now is because of the character development of the new soldiers in Vietnam while Captain Willard watches them all die and/or go mad. The characters in Se7en seem to stay very much the same throughout the whole film. Also, the beginning and ending of Apocalypse Now are some of the best scenes in any movie I've seen. They capture the mood of the whole film so well. From the drunk Willard fighting with his mirror, bleeding and sprawled naked in his room, to Kurtz discussing how it is ironic to deem "Fuck" so vulgar in the middle of a vulgar war while a water buffalo has its head cut off. It is beautifully crafted chaos. I will admit that the plot of Se7en is more intriguing and makes me wonder more, but there is an atmosphere to Apocalypse Now that I haven't felt in any other movie.
Apocalypse Now is the best Vietnam war film ever made and Se7en is the best murder-mystery-thriller film ever made. I'm more of a sucker for murder-mysteries so my pick is therefore Se7en.
Se7en takes this nod.
Apocalypse Now is too great to lose here.
I'm more of a Se7en fan!
