I expected to hate New Jack City when I saw it (a pretty long time ago) but I really enjoyed it. Slum Dog Millionaire, on the other hand, was a disappointment - well enough acted and directed, etc. but so "formula" that I predicted almost every upcoming scene and (of course!) knew how it would end very early on.
