Amelie by alot,I didn't really care for Moulin Rouge that much.
Moulin Rouge is far too garish and hyperactive for my tastes. Amélie is pretty much on the borderline of how much garish hyperactivity I can tolerate. Amélie does have a number of little moments that enjoyed, though, despite being sort of boring and annoying overall. With Moulin Rouge, just about every moment got on my nerves, whether large or small. Amélie was also more appealing visually, without being obnoxious about it.

Amelie was a charmer but I prefer the ambitious Moulin Rouge.

I loved both, but Moulin Rouge is my favorite movie of all time.
