Mine are Charlie Chaplin’s “City Lights”, followed by Billy Wilder’s “The Apartment”, Buster Keaton’s “The General”, “Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans”, and Hitchock’s “Notorious”.

The highest ranked entry from within the last decade is “Once” from 2006, which is #64 of my unseen Romance films.

    • Sunrise was one of the ones I watched two years ago as part of this. I’m really not a huge fan of silent non-comedies, but that one was beautiful.

I like The Apartment and Once best of the rest of them.

Flickchart’s telling me my highest-unseen Romance is Rear Window.
I didn’t even know Rear Window was considered a romance….

    • That one is debatable. When I did this before, Barry Lyndon ended up getting declassified as a romance after I watched it and mentioned in the group that it wasn’t. At all.

Mine pull’s up The Red Shoes (1948) , Bringing Up Baby (1938) and Ugetsu (1953). My highest recommended is technically Casablanca which I have seen but it’s been like 17 years and I can’t remember enough to rate it.

    • I watched The Red Shoes and Ugetsu for the first time when I did this challenge two years ago. I liked The Red Shoes pretty well, but Ugetsu is the one that has stuck with me.
