The 4th Annual Flickcharters’ Choice Awards Winners!
2014 at the movies sort of had everything, from meta superhero deconstructions to talking raccoons. For the fourth year in a row, Flickcharters have voted for their favorite in a wide variety of categories, from the worst to best and the upcoming films that spike our interest. Now that the films have been watched and the votes have been tallied, here are you winners for The 4th Annual Flickcharters’ Choice Awards!

In the category with the least amount of votes, The Raid 2: Berenthal destroyed the competition, receiving over half of all votes to leave critical favorites Ida and Force Majeure in the dust.

Fixing the Oscar snub, voters gave The Lego Movie an easy win, giving the film two-thirds of all votes. Meanwhile The Boxtrolls received fewer votes than any other film in any category, with only one vote.

Even though Transformers: Age of Extinction was one of the biggest box-office successes of 2014, voters apparently don’t like their movies loud and dumb, voting the fourth film in the franchise the worst film of the year with almost half of the votes.

Considering the original Star Wars is the number one film on Flickchart, it’s no surprise that the seventh installment in the franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens makes an easy win with almost half of all votes. Last year’s winner in this category, The Grand Budapest Hotel, ended up getting nominated this year for best picture. Maybe The Force Awakens will continue this trend next year.

In the closest category of the year and our closest best picture race we’ve ever had, Guardians of the Galaxy wins our biggest award by only four votes, with Birdman, Boyhood and The Grand Budapest Hotel all tying for second place, each getting 20% of the vote. Guardians of the Galaxy joins the films Drive, Django Unchained and Gravity as one of our best picture winners.
