The NBA season has been cancelled up until mid-December for sure, and it’s not looking like there will be a season at all. The labor negotiations have been contentious to say the least and it looks like both sides are comfortable alienating their fans and losing billions of dollars in advertising, sponsorships, ticket sales, etc...

For somebody like me who enjoys watching professionals play an incredibly compelling sport (and not sloppy college ball), it’s a huge downer. On the plus side though that’s five hours a night free to do other things! To fill up that time, and to fill up the hole in your heart from missing the NBA, here’s the best basketball movies to watch in place of games:
