kingofpain – “Both movies involve an hero dragging around a chick while killing lots of villains. However, the chick in American Ninja was severely annoying and I’m not a big fan of Michael Dudikoff as an action star. Tom Cruise is a madman in real life, but at least he’s kind of likable as an actor. And even Cameron Diaz is preferable to the girl in American Ninja. I guess that part toward the end when the evil ninja shot a laser at Dudikoff was kind of awesome, and… well, the whole final battle in American Ninja was pretty cool. But Knight and Day was a more tolerable experience overall. Not a whole lot more tolerable, but there were some decent action scenes and attempts at humor.”

New in Theaters: June 25, 2010

Wednesday, June 23rd:
Knight and Day (Wide Release) – Trailer
I am oddly intrigued by this film. The trailers are such a weird mix of boring cliches and infectious Tom Cruise swagger that it’s got to be worth a watch somewhere down the road. Plus the director, James Mangold, seems to have good taste in what to helm; so I find it hard to believe he would captain a sinking ship.

Grown Ups (Wide Release) – Trailer
I envy the leads in this movie so much. They get paid millions upon millions of dollars to goof around with their buddies all day.
