I think the first hour of Star Trek III is phenomenal. Kirk’s talk with Sarek is one of the most moving moments any of the TOS show or movies produced, and McCoy’s building insanity is just fun to watch. The movie loses me with Christopher Lloyd and the David drama, and the lack of Kirstie Alley is hard to get over. I have to put IV above III for its consistency, but that first hour of III is one of my favorite pieces of the Trek universe.
