Adrien Brody stars in the new movie I’m looking most forward to this Tuesday. I love science fiction stories about experiments gone wrong and it looks like most Flickchart users have been rating this one very well.

I generally am OK with remakes if for no other reason than they finally give me some incentive to watch the original. The original was a solid little Rocky-clone and everything I’ve heard about this modern remake seems to be pretty positive too.

I actually kinda liked the first Space Chimps. It’s a little ridiculous, brightly-colored and features some decent voice acting. Can’t say I’m excited to see what a DTV sequel looks like though.

I miss hand-drawn animated movies. I can’t even begin to imagine what this would look like in the modern style of CG animation. And yes, I know the ballroom scene was all done using computers but it was made to look like the rest of the flick.

Words cannot describe why The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is so thoroughly awesome. The story is executed to perfection and Bogart & Walter Huston were never better. You can also catch it on TCM Saturday Night (10/9) at 10PM (Eastern).

The first Mad Max is damn good, but in my opinion, the first sequel (The Road Warrior) is the greatest pure action movie ever made, slightly edging out Die Hard.

New to Netflix Instant Streaming:
Pick of the Week:
Louie (Streaming on Saturday October 5th) – I’ve only seen two TV shows that blew away every preconceived notion I had of what TV could be. The Wire is the first and Louie is the second. Louie, starring Louie C.K. (who also does the writing, directing, editing, etc), simply must be experienced because no written words can do it justice. It’s the funniest, smartest, most depressing (but not in a bad way, if that makes sense), and most unique show on right now. You can also find all the first season’s episodes on Hulu. Highly Recommended.

Splice I want to see. The very concept of The Human Centipede creeps me the f@ck out.
And boy, oh boy, do I miss traditional animation, too. Beauty and the Beast is one of the classics, that’s for sure.
